Ice Ice Baby!!

North Devon Motor Club crew Jon Tucker and Scott Cleverdon competed in mid Wales on 5th January, on the Red Kite Stages Rally, as part of the Peugeot 206 Winter Cup, which they are using as a learning base for next years Peugeot 206 Cup. The rally used the very icy Crychan and Halfway forests on Epynt.

After an action packed day they finished a very respectable 31st overall and 9th of the Peugeots. They would have been higher up the order, but had a few spins on all the ice, and also did some damage with a small excursion into the scenery due to inconsistent pacenotes, which were supplied by the organisers. This was no problem though, as the TJH Motorsport service crew fixed the car well within the allocated service time, so they could continue the rally.

They also lost some time on a corner that saw over 60 cars out of 90 going off, due to sheet ice.

Both Jon and Scott were happy with the day, because, without the time lost they could be well up the running order in the Peugeots, and for Jon's first time in the Welsh forests, beating 60 other cars, a lot of which were more powerful, was a very special accomplishment.
