Jon, Scott and a World Champion!!
Jon Tucker and Scott Cleverdon, members of the North Devon Motor Club, met Richard Burns, who won the World Rally Championship in 2001 and now drives a Peugeot 206 World Rally Car.
Jon and Scott, who take part in Peugeots highly respected one make championship, the Peugeot 206 Cup, were at a training day put on by Peugeot at the Autosport show at the NEC, and Richard flew in to be part of that and show his support of the Championship. Richard himself was once a winner of a Peugeot one make championship and is now a works driver for Peugeot on a reported salary of £4 Million.
A list of questions was compiled by the drivers and co-drivers at the training day, and they were put to Richard, who gave some very interesting and informative answers.
Some of
the people attending the training day were selected for a group photo with Richard
before he had to fly out again to begin testing for his first WRC rally of the
year in Monte Carlo. Also in the photo is last years 206 Cup winner, Garry Jennings,
who is now a works driver for Peugeot, part of his prize for winning.
